My reading habits

 

When I was younger, I used to read more often, above all in summer. However, the stressful life I am living currently have changed my reading habits since when I finish school, I am pretty exhausted of reading and teaching so I prefer to relax my mind watching TV series or films, for example. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to having free time to read again.

As I mentioned before, I love films and TV series so my favourite stories are, above all, thriller and fantasy stories and if these stories are related to films and TV series, they are preferable for me. Besides, I love reading in social networks. In Facebook, for example, I follow different groups related to short horror stories, mythology, interesting facts about films or life in general. Thus, I try to read as much as possible, but, in this case, short stories. I usually use my I-pad to read these stories.

Regarding the language in which I read, I have to recognise that I usually read in Spanish, my mother tongue. When I finish my lessons in English, I need to relax my mind of that language. For this reason, I prefer to read in my mother tongue. However, I do not stop reading in English as I read the subtitles in films and TV series. I delight in increasing my vocabulary and expressions with the subtitles. Taking into account using this skill in English, I need to say that when I am on holiday, I sometimes read books in English.

Finally, bearing in mind the purpose of that skill, I have to say that I read for pleasure. I am enthusiastic about knowing different details about films, facts, history or life in general. Thus, reading is an enjoyable activity for me. I am always learning as my mind never stops.
